Kick-off meeting of IMVO Pilot Working Group

The kick-off meeting of the IMVO Pilot Working Group which took place in Dublin on Thursday 8th February 2018 was attended by twenty six people representing all the stakeholders who will take part in the IMVO pilot – pharmacies, hospitals, wholesalers, manufacturers and IT software providers. The IMVO team presented details of the pilot and the group provided input on IMVO’s draft pilot implementation plan. There was also a very useful exchange of information on each groups’ preparations so far for implementation of the new safety feature requirements and on issues that need to addressed and explored during the pilot. The Pilot Working Group will meet again in March.
Update for IT software providers
31st January 2018
IMVO organised a briefing session by Skype on Wednesday 31st January 2018 for IT software providers who are developing solutions for pharmacies, hospitals and wholesalers who wish to connect to the Irish Medicines Verification System (IMVS). The IT software providers were updated on progress with the testing of the IMVS and plans for the IMVO pilot.

IMVO ran a series of one-hour webinars by Skype from October 2017 to January 2018 to provide MA holders with an update on progress with the Irish Medicines Verification System and more information about IMVO funding and the MA holder onboarding process. Webinar for manufacturers interested in taking part in IMVO pilot

IMVO intends to launch a live pilot of the Irish medicines verification system in early 2018 and is seeking manufacturers and marketing authorisation holders to make serialised packs available for the pilot.
