Independent Chairperson

Paul Reid was appointed as Independent Chairperson of IMVO in March 2026. Paul is an experienced board chair, non-executive director, and CEO. He currently chairs An Coimisiún Pleanála, Ireland’s national and independent planning authority, and Ashdale Care, which provides specialist residential care services for children and young people. He is a former Board member of Uisce Éireann and was Independent Chairperson of the Citizens’ Assembly on Drugs. Paul served as CEO of the Health Service Executive (HSE) from 2019 to 2023, leading through the Covid-19 pandemic and a major cyber attack. Prior to that, his career spanned roles in local government, public service, reform, international aid, and telecoms. He holds an MBA from Trinity College and honorary fellowships for public service.
