IMVO guidance for: “Data error” category of response

The data that has been scanned on this pack cannot be found in the IMVS, or there is a mismatch between what was submitted and what is found in the system.

  1. Check that the information submitted matches the information on the pack. If it matches, proceed to step 4.
  2. If you have manually entered the information, please check that what you submitted matches what is found on the pack. If it is different, such as missing characters or upper case/lower case please try again, taking care to enter the correct details. Please note that the data is case sensitive.
  3. If you have scanned the pack using a scanner, please check that what was submitted matches what is found on the pack. If it is different, such as missing character or upper case/lower case, please attempt the operation with a different scanner if possible. Alternatively, you can enter the data manually. If this is successful, it is likely that your scanner is not set up correctly. See the IMVO website for details on how to correct this.
  4. Please quarantine this pack in a plastic bag and affix the unique alert ID on the bag if available. If no alert ID was provided, affix the 4 data elements on the bag. Do not mark the pack. Please follow the ‘Alert Management’ guidance found here.
